Okay, I'll repeat... THEY WON!! Whooo Hooooo!! :-) I always choke up when they make that turn to come back to the loading area. And all around me I could hear people cheering for the "Pink Ladies". The Oshkosh community has really embraced them as participants in this festival. As far as PPP, this is a MUST do festival for them. They have been here all 3 years.

They have roses. When the two boats were in position there was special music played. The song was "Tough" sung by Craig Morgan. As the words sunk in it was very moving and I know it hit home for Chris. For those familiar with youtube, there is a video of Craig Morgan singing the song. Or you can find the lyrics by Googling Tough lyrics. Have kleenex. There was also a moment of silence.

Each bird is a different species throughout the entire set. The birds are all carved by Bob. He also created the black and white stained glass "board". He likes to try different mediums. This set was quite the undertaking and pictures do not do it justice!

The Birds in the bird cages are the Bishops. They have the traditional Bishop top. The birds on the carrousel horses are the Knights I believe.

Bob did many many pieces like these. There is no paint or colored stains on the photographer. Bob did all the "color" variation by using different woods. Again, pictures do not do these pieces justice. If a character had a beard, each sliver of wood that comprised it, was placed by hand.
