My son Josh with his wife Anoush and my great niece Cynthia who came with me to the races. Josh and Anoush made it in time to see the race that PPP won!! Yay!

This was at the very beginning of getting to the area. From left to right: My sister-in-law Mary (Angie's mom), my brother Dave (Angie's dad), Angie's husband Chris is holding their youngest daughter Catherine, the man bending is Chris's dad, and the lady watching him is Chris's mom, and the young lady in the pink hat is Angie and Chris's oldest daughter Jenny.

Pink Paddling Power getting ready to load for their first race. You can see the railroad bridge in the background. That is where they will paddle to and get into position to start the race to the Main Street bridge. I don't know that lady standing forefront on the left, but that's Cynthia's hand with her cool camera.

After the boats pass the finish line, they turn and come to the loading area to unload so the next 4 teams can go.

In this shot you can see the green floaters. They represent the finish line. The weather on Saturday, could not have been more perfect. It was beautiful.

Angie waves as they load for their second race. The one they're gonna win!! \o/ yay! Couldn't wait to tell. These ladies are truly remarkable. Two had had surgeries recently and Angie had just gotten chemo 2 days before the festival.

Okay, I'll repeat... THEY WON!! Whooo Hooooo!! :-) I always choke up when they make that turn to come back to the loading area. And all around me I could hear people cheering for the "Pink Ladies". The Oshkosh community has really embraced them as participants in this festival. As far as PPP, this is a MUST do festival for them. They have been here all 3 years.

They have roses. When the two boats were in position there was special music played. The song was "Tough" sung by Craig Morgan. As the words sunk in it was very moving and I know it hit home for Chris. For those familiar with youtube, there is a video of Craig Morgan singing the song. Or you can find the lyrics by Googling Tough lyrics. Have kleenex. There was also a moment of silence.
